After receiving a gorgeous wedding invitation that featured Scottish tartan and reindeers, it was inevitable that the date would be near Christmas time and was in fact 4 days before Christmas Day. I had never been to a winter wedding before and I struggled to find an outfit other than a typical Christmas night out dress. Essentially I knew I had to have an outfit that was going to keep me warm enough and shoes that were comfy to wear at an all day event. I initially thought that I would buy something new like a floor length or midi dress considering how cold it was going to be. In my wardrobe I have dresses that I have only worn a handful of times, and after considering this particular dress for a while, I eventually decided to wear it. It was from an online boutique called Comino Couture.

The Comino Couture brand itself offers ranges of dresses that enhance an hour glass figure with the skater dress style, as most are cinched in at the waist. The brand name ‘couture’ emphasises the extravagant and vibrant designs as seen in couture catwalks but wearable for the target customer and accessible price point.

Christian Dior introduced the womanly hour glass shape in the 1950’s which this dress emphasises, but with the classic full length ball gown which enhanced women's curves. As this dress has a short skirt it gives the illusion of movement and bounce. It also features a high neck with a blue and turquoise colour way. It creates structure with an exclusive pattern encrusted with crystals that sparkled, which seemed to be perfect to wear at Christmas. The thick material of the dress was also so ideal for a Winter’s Day in Glasgow and more importantly kept me warm. The stunning, heavily embellished and embroidery reflects varies designers' hand sewn flower patterns designed on dresses such as Gucci or Dolce & Gabbana, and is elegantly timeless. The dress was matched with a navy raincoat, baby blue Prada bag and black Saint Laurent sandals. Surprisingly, they were so comfortable to wear throughout the day and feature a staple YSL heel design. What I Wore:- Dress - Comino Couture high neck embellished dress Shoes - Saint Laurent Opyium Sandals Raincoat - Emporio Armani Navy rain coat Bag – Prada baby blue bag
