Paris was incredible and exactly as I remembered it the first time I visited in 2015, the city does not disappoint. Staying around the corner from the Champs Elysees, we seen it and the Arc de Triomphe everyday. It was handy being so central, although I would try stay somewhere different the next time. The big bus tour (had to) was handy to sightsee all major monuments – the Norte Dame etc, which can also take you two routes and into the depths and corners of the city. We spent a day in Le Louvre, which proved to showcase odd paintings and people crowded around the Mona Lisa, nevertheless I love reading the symbols and story behind an interesting painting. On the last night we went to the Moulin Rouge, before we went to Sanglier Bleu which is right next door to the famous show. This is a MUST when you visit Paris, this was a present for my 21st birthday and it certainly delivered! A fantastic show in an iconic setting sipping champagne, it was a dream come true. Outfits I lived in trainers during the day (sometimes the weather was unpredictable as it rained two days we were there), a coat and umbrella in a Paris spring is a must. I dressed in trousers, and dresses at night however the French are all quite casual (doesn’t mean you need to be though)! Food The most freshest, delicate, delicious food is in Paris. However, along with the drinks can be pricey on the Champs Elysees, as this is a main tourist area, we stayed away to get the best experience of Paris as possible. The first night we tried frogs legs or ‘cuisses de grenouilles’ in a bar then walked (what seemed like miles) to the Eiffel Tower. We sat outside in French bistros during the day. Most of the time I ate salads which were filled with fresh ingredients like blue cheese, smoked duck and avocado, to name a few of the ingredients consumed daily. There are a few good cafes near Le Louvre, (Café Saint honoré and Le Café de la Régence). We ventured to St. Germain (the non-touristy area), we went to Semilla which was a modern French restaurant. My dad used to work in French catering and managed to translate the full menu along with help from the waitress. They served dishes like raw fish and onion tarts, and showed us the slab of meat for us before cooking it. We ordered every dessert off the creative menu pairing fragrant and delicious ingredients together including strawberry and basil, which proved a favourite. Other nights we had a great selection of food including meat boards, escargots, multiple selections of cheese, foil gras and dumplings. Another creative little shop served ice cream in the shape of a flower with a mini macaroon carefully placed on top. I can definitely say I have never had a bad meal in Paris, the city is honestly so pretty even when it rains!
