Stellar was an incredible experience, I learned invaluable knowledge filled with business tips and lessons. I gained first hand knowledge from Serena, the founder of the company, she was able to share her own experiences and recommendations. Whilst I worked with an independent business, it gave me insight to all departments. Serena ensured I understood their software and the systems she uses for the business. I was also encouraged to implement these new skills whilst working. The staff were also able to learn advertising techniques from a younger perspective. After gaining confidence about the Italian brands from Gianni Chiarini to Trussardi Jeans stocked at Stellar, I had the ability to independently create social media posts and use experience to prestigiously sell products to customers. Stellar is also the only store in Scotland to stock these brands, it was easy to sell the exclusive products and I honoured customers with a personal shopping experience. I must admit, working in a shop with the amount of amazing bags and accessories proved difficult and tempting, and so I ended up purchasing some gifts. I had the opportunity to manage and showcase Stellar products at the Dedicated2Girls event, which has given me more of an insight to the work that goes into preparing for an event like this. The overall 6 week placement at Stellar installed preparation to create a future fashion business career, inspiring a vision and goals. I couldn’t have thanked Serena enough, she also gave me a beautiful Coccinelle (one of my favourite brands) key ring at the end of my placement, which I adore.
