For semester 2 in university, we had to find a placement for 6 weeks. I was certain I needed a placement in Aberdeen because I had just moved up here from Glasgow and finding a placement somewhere else i.e London (which I would love to do in the future) but would be impossible to do right now. I was constantly researching Stellar, an Italian handbag and accessories shop in the west end of Aberdeen. I applied and luckily got an interview to meet the owner. I kept up to date on their social media and researched the Italian designers showcased in Stellar which included Tosca Blu, Coccinelle, Piquadro and Trussardi Jeans. I popped into the store the next day which I recommend doing so the business, if they haven’t already looked you up can put a face to the name and become familiar with you, seeing you’ve made an effort. Their attentive service meant when I walked in they were friendly and warm towards me, asking what products I was looking for etc. I was shown the functions of the goods in store including a Piquadro accessory that finds your bag if you lose it accompanied by an app on your phone.  After chatting with the owner, Serena (who is Italian) found out her family owned shoe stores in the 70's and 80's in Milan. I also ended up introducing myself and admitted I was in for an interview on Wednesday and bough a leather bow key ring. Perfectly gift wrapped in a little box with tissue paper and cute Stellar bag. At the Interview, I was intrigued to learn more about the business ventures the owner and sales assistant had undertaken. I asked lots of questions on interview  and was advised the collections weren’t available in any other store in the UK. This screams exclusivity, and that excites me because I’ve worked in that environment before which I L O V E. 

INTERVIEW OUTFIT– After a weekend trying to find the perfect outfit I ordered a blazer dress from Zara, which fitted beautifully and paired with point black boots, leather jacket and beige DKNY bag. I knew I needed a splash of colour and knowing tassels and fringing are a must right now I ordered my burgundy tassel earrings. I am elated to say I got the placement for Stellar and start in January! Grateful and excited to learn as well as giving my knowledge to the company I cannot wait!
